The IBEW has been increasing it's activity with Electrical Industry night's (Job Fair). Their initiative is to entice your employees to an event with the promises of higher pay, more favorable work hours and environment, health insurance and retirement benefits. The event is a union organizing event.

The IBEW Journal recently dedicated a section of it's magazine called the Organizing Wire. The article touts "most people in the South are afraid of unionss, seeing them as an outside entity that just takes their money. The Carolina Initiative will convince more open shop electricians that the union is their friend, not their enemy."
