OSHA 10: The OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety course is designed to provide workers with a basic understanding of some of the most hazardous construction activities. The emphasis is on hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention, rather than on OSHA standards only. Employers and insurance companies are often requiring that contractors coming onto their work sites have OSHA 10-Hour training.
OSHA 30: The OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety course trains employees and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in the workplace. This course is designed for supervisors and workers with some safety responsibility, and includes information on workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. OSHA 30-Hour training for managers and supervisors is becoming mandatory in many companies due to insurance and other regulatory requirements.
